Win $500 by Creating an Advertisement to Promote “Don’t Text & Drive”

We will select (2) two winners ($500 each) for this contest and publish the ad on a page on our website. The advertisement will also be promoted through our social channels (opt-in option).
The Texting and Driving Ban in Pennslyvania prevents the use of texting and driving to prevent fatal accidents, yet, people still decide to be distracted while behind the wheel.
In 2019, there were a reported 3,142 people killed in the U.S. after being involved in a distracted driving related accident. Additionally, nearly 424,000 were injured the same year by distracted drivers.
As injury attorneys we work to help make our communities safer and we are now introducing a scholarship contest to help prevent people from being distracted behind the wheel. Our scholarship contest will only be open to those in Pennsylvania and want to see how you would create a an advertisement to prevent distracted or texting and driving.
Contest Criteria:
- Students will design an advertisement to educate people on the dangers of distracted driving, while including a bit of humor or irony in the ad. This is a creative opportunity where students can create a billboard, video commercial, radio ad, or poster to name a few mediums (limit to 50 MB digital file size).
- Students will also aim to convince people not to text and drive, drink and drive, eat and drive, or get caught up in any other distraction while driving in their messaging or ad copy.
Who Is Eligible?
- Applicants must be high school seniors that are graduating in summer 2025; or
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university for the start of the fall 2024 semester.
Deadline
- Applications and essay must be submitted before August 15th, 2025; and
- The winner of the scholarship will be notified no later than August 30th, 2025.
